How do I rank lots?

In Lot Builder

1. From the dashboard, find your auction. Then go to Catalogs–>Lot Builder.

2. Click the Go to lot drop-down menu and select the lot you would like to rank.

3. Scroll to the bottom of the page. Under the Lot Details tab, click on the drop-down menu next to Rank.

4. Here you can select a rank from the following:

    • Highlight (will appear first in your auction listing)
    • Best (will appear after any highlighted items)
    • Better (will appear after “Best” items)
    • Good (will appear after “Better” items)
    • Average (will appear last in your auction listing)

5. Save by clicking the small disk icon at the top of the page.

(Hint: when you hover over it, is says “Save this lot”.)

Note: If you leave this field blank, the item will not appear in your marketing materials. Also, if you choose not to rank your lots, Wavebid will automatically export lots 1-15 in your marketing exports.

In Lot by Photo

1. From the dashboard, find your auction. Then go to Catalogs–> Lot by Photo.2. Follow steps 2-5 above.

How to Rank Lots in Auction Preview

1. From the dashboard, find your auction. Then go to Auction–> Preview Auction.

2. You may need to click on Show/ Hide Columns to uncheck any unnecessary column/s separating the lot description and lot rank. We just want both the Description and Rank columns to be visible on the screen.

Now Lot Number, Description, Photo and Rank columns are all visible:

3. Find the lot you would like to rank.

4. Click inside the Rank box for that lot.

5. Type in your ranking as one of the following:

    • Highlight (will appear first in your auction listing)
    • Best (will appear after any highlighted items)
    • Better (will appear after “Best” items)
    • Good (will appear after “Better” items)
    • Average (will appear last in your auction listing)

NOTE: Rankings left blank will not appear in marketing materials/ exports. Any words other than the rankings listed above (for example, “okay”) will not be recognized by the system. You will get an error message.

Also, if you are importing a catalog spreadsheet, you could include a Lot Rank column instead of typing each rank into Auction Preview.
