How do I set a Tax Code?

Tax Rates and Codes

 

 

Creating a New Tax Rate:

1. Start at My Dashboard.

 

2. Click on the My Links--> Company--> Accounting Settings--> Tax Codes. 

 

3. You will be brought to the Tax Codes page.

 

4. To create a new individual tax rate navigate to the three boxes in the middle of the page.

 

5. Enter a Name, Rate, and a Note for your new tax rate.

6. Press Save and your new tax rate will appear above in the table.

 

Creating a New Tax Code:

1. Now to create a new tax code, click on the Create New link next to the Tax Codes heading.

2. The Create Tax Code dialog box will appear.

3. Enter a Code, Name, Note, and select your Rate from the Rates menu for your new tax code.

 

4. Press Save. 

Setting a New Tax Code For an Auction:

1. Start at My Dashboard

 

2. On the right side of the auction, hover over the Auction tab, and click Edit Settings. 

 

3. You will be brought to the Edit Auction page.

 

4. Click on the Accounting tab.

 

5. Under Taxes--> Tax Code, find the Change button.

 

6. The Select Tax Code dialog box will appear.

 

7. Select you tax code from the Tax Code drop down menu.

 

8. Press Save.

9. Your tax code will now be set for the auction.

 

Setting a Tax Code for an Individual Item:

1. Start from My Dashboard.

 

2. On the right side of the auction, hover over the Auction tab, and click Edit Settings. 

3. You will be brought to the Edit Auction page.

 

4. Navigate to the bottom of the page and make sure the Different tax rates per lot? box is checked.

 

5. Head back to the Dashboard.

 

6. On the right side of the auction, hover over the Catalogs tab, and click Lot Builder. 

 

7. You will be brought to the Lot Builder page.

8. Go to one of your lots.

9. Scroll down to the bottom of the page.

10. Navigate to the Tax Code box and click.

11. The Select Tax Code dialog box will appear.

12. Select your tax code from the Tax Code drop-down menu.

13. Press Set Tax Code.

Your tax code is now set for that item! You can repeat this process for all lots that require a different tax code.
